Dr John A. Mulnix, DVM, MS

You'll find Dr Mulnix in the office
8:30am to 5:30pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday

Dr Mulnix has been a veterinarian since 1963. He earned both his DVM and his master's degree in physiology at Colorado State University (CSU). He has held assistant and associate professorships at CSU, Cornell University, and the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

He is actively engaged in both the practice and scholarship of

 

veternary medicine. He has presented over 100 seminars and papers to international, national, state, and local meetings; authored close to 30 journal and textbook publications; and was consulting editor for two veterinary medicine textbooks.

Dr Mulnix is listed in 'Who's Who in Veterinary Science and Medicine;' is a member of scholastic honorary and research societies; and has received a number of prestigious awards, including a 'Practice of Excellence' award in 1994 and the AAHA Western Region 'Practitioner of the Year' award in 1999.

His research interests include:

    In addition to his work, Dr Mulnix is happily married to Charlene, the father of four children, and the grandfather of 8 grandchildren.

    Dr Mulnix's hobbies include golf, fishing, reading, water color painting, and being with his grandchildren.

    Dr Michelle L. Thomas, DVM

    You'll find Dr Thomas in the office
    7:00am to 1:00pm Monday through Friday

     

    Dr Thomas earned both her BS in Zoology and her DVM at Washington State University.

    She was a recipient of numerous scholarships and graduated with high honors, including achieving the presidential honor roll. She is a member of Phi Zeta scholastic honor society.

    She has been in private practice at Mulnix Animal Clinic since 1996.

    Dr Thomas' research interests include:

    Dr Thomas is married to Mike and they have two children - Shelby and Garet.

    Her other 'children' include Tater Tot, a Golden Retriever, and QT, a Lifeline Puppy Rescue lab cross. She also has a grey tabby, Cheerio, who was injured and abandoned at Mulnix Animal Clinic.

    Dr Thomas' hobbies include playing 3v3, indoor, and outdoor soccer, jogging, skiing, reading, and family time.

    Dr Janet D Turner, DVM

    You'll find Dr Turner in the office
    7:30am to 5:30pm Wednesday and Friday and rotating Saturday mornings

    Dr Turner earned her BA in Political Science at the University of Denver (DU) in 1972 and went on to earn her DVM at Colorado State University in 1980. She was the recipient of a full tuition Scholar's Program Award while at DU.

    She has been at Mulnix Animal Clinic since 1996. Prior to joining the team she practiced small animal medicine and surgery in the Denver/Boulder area and in Weld County for 16 years.

    Dr Turner's special research interests include:

  • Dog and cat medicine and surgery
  • Laser surgery
  • Pain management
  •

  • Dr Turner has had a myriad of pets over the years including dogs, cats, fish, horses, and farm animals. She has farmed and ran a cow/calf operation with her husband, Dan, in Weld County for 15 years. They currently reside in Ft Collins with their two children, Anna and Zach. Family pets include new pup 'Rosie,' a Golden Retriever; 'Jack,' also a Golden Retriever; cats 'Tiger' and 'Charlie;' and a 35 year old Arabian mare named 'Flair.'

    Dr Deborah M Kiser, DVM

    You'll find Dr Kiser in the office
    8:00am to noon Saturdays and scattered weekdays

     

    Dr Kiser grew up in the Midwest and earned her DVM from Purdue University in 1985. She has worked in small animal practices in the Indianapolis, Chicago, and Denver areas for 19 years and previously worked at Mulnix Animal Clinic in the summer of 2000.

    In addition to her work at Mulnix Animal Clinic she does part-time consulting for the veterinary industry, including consulting regarding drug and vaccine issues. She recently worked at CSU with prion diseases, including Chronic Wasting Disease of elk.

     
    She enjoys working with both cats and dogs but has a special interest in cats, having worked with several feline-exclusive practices.

  • Dr Kiser's primary interests outside of animals are music, photography, hiking, horseback riding, and anything else creative.
